Garment Construction (Sewing)

Purpose of the course

Learners will gain complete understanding and practical expertise of a variety of styles from their own designs. This is further training in producing garments. Learners will be able to assemble all categories of garments from various designs.

• Skirts and Blouses

• Collars & Cuffs

• Trousers and shirts

• Zip fastening & Pockets

• Seam and Edge Finishing

The training covers the production of all the garments ranging from the simple outfits to best dress, evening and wedding gowns.

Specific outcomes of the course

The garment constructor must develop finishing skills, by mastering stitching techniques.

1. Stitching Techniques; is a major factor in quality finish of a garment.

2. The learner must demonstrate the ability to construct a garment that fits and meet with the quality finish.

3. The learner must be able to choose correct fabrics, actual details, functionality and fit of the garment for presentation.
